[It's very late by the time Marco manages to get this journal working and track down Robin. He convinced Ace that he would go to sleep early, but then promptly snuck out with a backpack of cookies and some fish sandwiches. Ace had his own reasons for needing to get out alone and Marco was pretty sure as long as he avoided the bar he'd be safe and wouldn't get caught.]

[He was still pretty distressed though. Hearing that his Dad died 30 years in the future still didn't make the distance of time a relief. He couldn't get to his Papa here either or make him safe in his own time and that was all so messed up. And he definitely couldn't tell Ace and make him worry, so that left Marco's oracle.]

Miss Oracle? I'm sorry it's so late but I really need to come see you. I got some food too. And from Sanji at the restaurant.

[He's sitting on the fountain again, human this time, and not as happy. Pretending to be happy for so long is exhausting. He doesn't know how everyone else does it. Still, he doesn't know whether to explain about his Dad yet or just wait. He could give her a cookie first and show her his fire heart (the best he could manage, flowers were beyond him right now) and THEN ask. Maybe. If she even replied. If not...

If not then he'd have to find a way to sneak into the library. He should have brought a book, but he didn't want it to get fishy.]

[There's a (by-now) familiar tapping at Robin's window and a certain blue phoenix outside hoping to be allowed in.]

[Ace is as stabilized as he'll get for now, and after sharing food with Chun-Li and Leanne and the rest of the floor, Marco heads over to Robin's room.]

[You might want to let him in because it's snowing and it might be sticking on those fiery feathers of his.]

[It seems Sanji is destined to oscillate wildly between somber and energetic these days. Right after the return from his mission, he'd been... okay; the closest to normal he'd felt in a long time, and he'd been damn glad for it. Everything still hurt, but it hurt in bearable amounts that didn't steal his breath with every passing thought. Smiling came easier, as did playful banter (and playful irritation), and a whole slew of emotions Sanji forgot he could handle.

And after December the 24th, he'd still be okay. Sorta. It would be hard for anyone to attach the sudden drop in enthusiasm to a particular event, save maybe Law... and one other. A certain someone who'd constantly been on his mind and hadn't contacted him in over two weeks, and the chef was starting to show signs of tear. Damn it.

Still, he goes about his business without reserve, old hat at keeping up appearances, but his expression remains caught in perpetual brooding unless he knows there are eyes watching him.

And as he's alone in House 6 kitchen for the moment, putting together a sandwich for himself, full-brood mode it is.]

[A blond and therefore, normal, if not entirely sane (saner than evil Marco though) Marco flies over and lightly taps on Robin's window, hovering in midair using his giant blue wings. Because why not cheat if you can?]

[strange that the longer isolation is, the easier it is to maintain. She's been gone for a while, keeping an eye on things, but nothing has needed her attention or help--other than to remind her how things are.

The house is empty and still when she comes to it and she is tempted to leave it again. Though she won't run now that she's here. She'll just light a single lamp and curl on the couch to read as she comes to accept what has happened]
