[For most of the day, Robin will be in the library. There is a sign tacked on the door reading:
Those with outstanding fines or books overdue two weeks or more will be severely penalized in three days time. It's recommended you take care of this now. ~Robin Nico. Head Librarian.
She herself will be inside the library all day, awaiting frantic returns and/or deposits before someone comes to remind her that she is going to be late for dinner again. Feel free to stop by at any time.]

I'm sorry, ne? Are you better? We'll get you dried off. [she carries it to the kitchenette and takes a fresh dishtowel to start to dry off the creature]
Did I startle you somehow? Or did you scare yourself, silly thing?
no subject
[Marco isn't even sure how to react.]
[On the one
handwing, she's actually being very caring and quite nice and affectionate, and god knows he loves that. Including being called a silly thing. So he just snuggles her a little and chirps quietly, letting her dry him off.][On the other
handwing, this was weird. She was really treating him like a pet.][Was it a game?]
[A weird game.]
[Or maybe she just understood how frustrating it was to be stuck as an animal and unable to talk. After all, she'd gone through the same thing as a cat.]
[Had Marco treated her more like a pet than girlfriend back then? It had all seemed quite fun at the time, but he wasn't sure now if he hadn't driven her crazy. He'd certainly irked Ace, but it was Ace. When wasn't he irked?]
Chirp!

Well I suppose you're male, even if you aren't quite a peacock. [she'd call him a phoenix if those existed. Or perhaps they did? Perhaps he was one?]
Maybe you're a phoenix. Should I burn you to see? Will you turn into an egg or just a nice feast? [though she's teasing. In either case, he was all dry now.] In any case, you're quite lucky my husband is vegetarian.

[He flicks his tail back and forth in amusement. Okay, part of him is a little unnerved by the joking threat to eat him --]
[Did she just call him her husband?]
[EEEEEEE--]
[He rolls about in bliss at that for a second. How cute!]
[So cute.]
I eat meat sometimes, yoi!
[It just made him violent, and too much of it would make him run the typical zoan risks.]
[Little does he know.]
[Little does he know.]

Someone must have left your cage open. [she flips the phone book on the counter] Zoo first or newspaper... [she idly taps her chin]
no subject
[He gives her a quizzical head tilt.]
[They have a zoo now?]
[Wait.]
[They have newspapers?!]
[He hops about the kitchenette to find it and bring it to her so he can read it over her shoulder while perched on the back of the chair.]

[You're luck he loves you Robin. Seriously. He might be ridiculous and fluffy most of the time, but there's only so far you can push the reigning captain of the Whitebeard pirates. Calling him a pet, now this.]
[He expects good sex for this.]
[Err.]
[When he's no longer a bird that is.]
Kree.
[Your turn to do a trick. Do flower hands! He loves those.]
no subject
Anata, if you get this, I need you to pick up a large birdcage on your way home. I seem to have an unexpected visitor and I can't quite make out who he belongs to.
[she checks the bird's wing for any kind of identification or tag]
no subject
[Birdcage his freaking four foot long tail feathers!]
[And who's Anata? And what's that den den mushi looking thing? And now what are you doing? That tickles!]
[He chirps, and points to the tattoo. Even if some weirdo illusion was in effect, surely if he could see that, Robin could too. And with that, Marco hops off to try get a pen and paper. It'll be slow going, but it'll work.]
no subject
[and she hung up the phone, wondering what the creature was up to now]
no subject
[She just called someone else love. She didn't recognize his mark, this wasn't funny in any way shape or form, and she just called someone else love!]
[She.]
[Just.]
[Called.]
[Someone.]
[Else.]
[Love.]
[In front of him.]
[Welp, he was going off of that vegetarian diet and murdering someone now.]
[No wait, this was crazy. Why would she do that even as a pretend joke? That didn't make sense.]
Robin? This stopped being funny awhile ago.
[An uneasy whistle and Marco carefully takes out pen and ink.]
Marco.
[Very carefully written, given his shitty "handwriting" with a beak in this form.]
no subject
he was writing something. This bird... A chill went down Robin's spine. How was that possible? Something...something trained in him perhaps? Yes. Yes it must be. Because she didn't feel mad even if this was something they would definitely put her in the asylum for.
Still her voice is faint]
Marco? [She rests a hand absently against her throat as she flips through the phonebook] I suppose--that's your owner, ne? [though she didn't look over just yet-- not sure if she wanted a response or not]
no subject
[Afraid of who? Afraid of what? Marco would kill them and never let Robin be afraid again.]
[He shakes his head. No owner. How could she not remember him? What had the Malnosso done?!]
[He picks up the single sheet of paper with his name and nudges it at her again with his head trying to get her to notice him. Him. Really him. The real him. He sighs wearily and goes back to writing.]
Pops. Whitebeard.
[He points to his chest again. If that didn't ring a bell... then he didn't know what to do. Watch and learn probably.]
no subject
I don't see him here either... Are-- are you sure you don't mean Whit Beir? [why is she having this conversation?]
no subject
[What was this book anyway? Was it like the journal? Marco sighs, eats the paper and hops over to look at the phone book. Weird. Meh. Screw it. Marco sprawls out over it to catch Robin's attention and cutely wiggles his feet at her.]
[Just a cute birdie. Let's go outside for fresh air.]
[He makes a pitiful sound and longingly taps a window.]
no subject
You want out, birdie?
[and she opens it, letting in the cool night air. Maybe knew where home was or maybe didn't want to go...either way....]
Be free.
no subject
[He tugs lightly at a sleeve and gestures towards the door. If she doesn't come with him, it's not freedom.]
[He's banking on the idea that she still loves adventure. The first time they met he offered to take her to the library or flying and exploring. She chose exploring and Marco has adored her ever since. Today will surely be the same. Even if she doesn't remember him at all, the Straw Hats love adventure even more than the Whitebeard crew does. Or did. Surely she'll come with him.]
[He lets out another whistle, full of longing and desire.] Come with me.
[Besides, does she really think he'd leave her there to meet up with a husband, with a love who isn't him? Yeah. No.]
no subject
Her? Go out into the dark of night following some enchanted bird? She had people waiting for her but...
Perhaps a little adventure couldn't hurt.]
For a little while, then.
[she strokes his neck and then moves gracefully out of the window herself, stepping into the warm night.
She has no idea what she's doing and it feels good]
