Log 12 [Video]

[Robin is sitting at her desk with a curious dog in her lap. Yes, that is a mustache. She looks neutral though the dog looks faintly worried--or perhaps constipated--it's difficult to tell]

For those who don't know, Marco has been kidnapped. Let's hope he comes back as something bearable, ne? But I would prepare for the worst. The Malnosso have been too kind lately. [She pets the dog's head lightly as if this doesn't bother her overly much]

A lesson to all you new feathers, the Malnosso will come for you one day without fail. There is no fighting them yet, though of course you should try. Don't allow yourself to be taken easily. However, when that time comes, you will be taken in--experimented on, tortured perhaps--you may remember it, you may not. You may be changed, you may not. Either way, your existence will be altered.

Though, on the bright side, the effects are usually temporary. After all, there's no point in permanently incapacitating a test subject when they are needed for further use.

I don't know if I will see you before Marco returns, but he wanted to let you know he loves you. Take care, ne? And if you need anything don't hesitate to call me.

Oh? I usually live in the library as well, but I haven't been for a day or so. Perhaps we'll meet one day.

[She nods at the question]

In my world... especially if you spend your life on the ocean but anywhere really...nakama are your crew. Your friends. Your family. You would do anything for them and vice versa. They cheer you on and irritate you and you protect them with your lives as they protect yours. Nakama are home.

[She may seem a little sad at the end. She has so few left here]

[ And now there's a huge smile on her face. ] That sounds wonderful. It's exactly like me and my friends!

[ And her smile lessens a little. She looks away. ] I miss the others. Spike, too.

[ Then she thinks of something else and look back to the screen. ] You should come hang out with me! I'm still trying to sort through all of the books.

I would enjoy that, Twilight-chan. I may be able to help you in sorting through books. At least in non-fiction. The fiction section is a mystery to me even when it isn't.

In the library, both genres seem to sort of merge together. Spock says there were a lot of differences between his history and the account of the Enterprise I found.

Is that so? I wonder why. It seems the library is in more of a mess than I thought.

Well, there are some things in there that I know are fiction. I found a Daring Do novel, and there's also a series of novels that are really similar to Sherlock Hooves back at home. But then I found a book with Spock in it, and others have sworn up and down to me that it's a work of fiction in their world.

Hmm. Well I wonder... If we all come from different worlds, how do you know that what is fiction in one world isn't fact in another? [It's an interesting thought to consider. Especially if there are fictional accounts of non-fictional worlds]

Spock said there were a lot of differences between the book about him that I found, and his own world. Unless... [ her eyes widen ] unless there were two Spocks.

It's certainly possible. Though I honestly think one is enough.

Maybe that's why I don't have any memories of the last time I was here. That could have been a Twilight from a different world.

Or another time. People...and ponies, I imagine, are often pulled from different spots on their timeline. I've returned here three times, but I only remember the latter two.

You remember previous times you were here? That's weird, because I definitely don't.

Only one. It is strange, ne? I've never really understood why. [Though...it was worth it, she supposed, to remember Marco...]

Maybe there isn't a rhyme or reason. [ She sighs. ] I've been trying to find something, but... this is as frustrating as trying to figure out Pinkie sense. It could just be something we have to accept.

It seems that way. [But what a curious word] Pinkie sense?

[ She shrugs. ] Pinkie can tell that some things will happen, right before they do. I can't explain it. Celestia knows I've tried. [ And got a fair amount of physical pain for her troubles. ] I don't want to give up on Luceti yet. I've only been here a short while, compared to my time I've spent in Ponyville, anyway. But there have been others here for years already.

Interesting. I don't believe I've seen it. [though she'll definitely have to ask about Pinkie sense at some point] Give up? What exactly are you expecting from this place?

That's the problem, I don't know. I don't think I expect a system, anymore, to who comes and goes and when, but it's easier if things aren't completely random.

Luceti doesn't make things that easy, I'm afraid. I've found the best strategy is to not predict anything and just take it how it comes.

[It's difficult at best but it's how she's always lived, really. Predicting what she can, working with what she couldn't]

Now you sound like Princess Cadance. Maybe that's the job of a ruler: to let the present wash over you like a still river. Are you some sort of leader where you come from?

Hardly. I'm a follower, though. And my leader is very much like that. He doesn't dwell on the past or worry for the future. He just--seems to find something to enjoy no matter what.

[a faint smile. she wishes she could be like him. To just exist in that state of hope even when terrible things happened]

He sounds very inspirational. I think that's important for a leader, too. Celestia put me on the path to who I am just by being herself and inspiring me to be like her.

Is he the ruler of your land? Or a friend of yours?

[she laughs softly at the thought of Luffy being a ruler of any land]

He's my captain. My nakama. He is the man who will one day become Pirate King.

King!

Well, I only knew one king, and he made his pony subjects miserable. But maybe he was just corrupted! A king could be just as honorable a title as princess in the right hands!

... Wait. King of PIRATES?

Yes. Pirates. He is a pirate and so am I and so are all of my nakama.
