[Robin is sitting at her desk with a curious dog in her lap. Yes, that is a mustache. She looks neutral though the dog looks faintly worried--or perhaps constipated--it's difficult to tell]

For those who don't know, Marco has been kidnapped. Let's hope he comes back as something bearable, ne? But I would prepare for the worst. The Malnosso have been too kind lately. [She pets the dog's head lightly as if this doesn't bother her overly much]

A lesson to all you new feathers, the Malnosso will come for you one day without fail. There is no fighting them yet, though of course you should try. Don't allow yourself to be taken easily. However, when that time comes, you will be taken in--experimented on, tortured perhaps--you may remember it, you may not. You may be changed, you may not. Either way, your existence will be altered.

Though, on the bright side, the effects are usually temporary. After all, there's no point in permanently incapacitating a test subject when they are needed for further use.

So, um... What do the robots look like? It really is sounding like I'm in a mecha anime.

Hmm. [And she doodles a picture of one for him to see ~~since this mun has no idea~~. It's not a particularly accurate picture and the bots have eyelashes for some mysterious reason but nevertheless.]

They're much bigger in real life. [said blandly] What is a mecha anime?

I'll take your word on it. And a mecha anime is the best kind of anime! It's a cartoon that has big robots in it, fighting other big things! My favorite is Proteam Omega, which I haven't missed an episode of... until now.

[Yes, he's pretty visibly saddened by this.]

Cartoon... [She's read of this before, though it has been a while and she tries to remember the context] Ah, that's--the moving comics, correct?

Right! Actually, I don't think it had a comic before it came out... There's a lot of toys for it though, and I think they were going to do a game too, and maybe the manga could be extras?

We don't have that kind of thing in our world. [Occasionally there will be newsreels on giant Denden Mushi but that's not the same thing. At least given what she's read on the subject.] We do have comics but I'm not inclined to read them.

Is because you're an adult?

Fiction doesn't do much for me, I'm afraid.

Oh. What do you like?

Histories mostly. Archaeological records. Myths and folklores on occasion. Ancient writings.

Though I have read the Princess Bride. It was...acceptable.

Huh... Are they all in the library? I have a friend who's pretty well-versed in a lot of the first and I'm sure she'd love to read about others' histories and all, and the last book doesn't sound too bad either.

Most of the books here are in the library yes. [she sounds faintly amused] Perhaps if your friend needs help, I will be able to direct her.

[Hey, they could be someone's personal collection!] I bet she'd love that! Her name's Mi... Oh, um, Platina. She's really elegant looking.

I'm afraid I'll need a little more to go on then that. [though she smiles a little] Are you and Platina-san close?

Um, she's very elegant and a lady, so she dresses in fine clothes but she loves jokes. She has black hair like me, but it's clipped back with little triangles and is waaay longer. Missy's the kind of person who turns heads when she walks into a room. [For better or for worse. Mostly because of her confident, pedigree air - but also because she's really pretty but maybe that's just Dia.]

I see. [And sees right through you. But don't worry. Your heart is in the right place and she is charmed in spite of herself]

Well if I see this special lady of yours I will be sure to point her in the right direction.
