Well then, it seems that Luffy has returned home. So be prepared to have things be quieter than normal. Maybe he will return here one day and maybe he won't.

[She hopes for the latter. He belongs on the sea. In the New World. Not here in this landlocked experiment. This prison. A second chance at life or not, they are all just puppets here and anyone who leaves, Robin feels, will be better off. Especially her captain.]

I am sure we will all miss him. [Because there is that, too. She will, and she knows her nakama will, but partings are always the hardest.] But perhaps this is for the best, ne?

[OOC: Robin will be hanging around house 6 for most of the day though eventually she will go for an hour or two for the library. Feel free to spot her either place]

[Another one--so quickly too. Intellectually, Lupin knows that it's for the best. Luffy was like him, and like Pops; such constrictive conditions weren't what he was intended for.

The knowledge didn't stop the brief pang of loss he felt. Though he barely knew Luffy, he liked the hyperactive pirate, and he understood why Smoker always compared the two of them.]

...I see. [His voice is even, but it doesn't hide the fact that he is bothered by all of this.] Thanks for the info, Robin-chan. You're right, Luffy's meant to fly free.

[Robin-chan? Well, not important right now. She lets this slide]

I know. [Lupin takes a moment to throw on a filter, not even truly caring who heard what he had to say anymore. All of the residents in his new establishment in House 46 likely knew all ready, and Lupin himself never really made it a secret.]

It's why I'm gonna find a way to get us out. Those of us who want to leave, anyway. I'm also gonna find a way to re-anchor us to different worlds too, if our own is too harsh to deal with.

Oh? [That is a solution she had never thought of before.] And what about those who are dead? Do you think they will still be once they leave here?

[He's done nothing but listen and think; its how he came to that conclusion.]

It's why I won't force anyone, or offer the choice to live in a different world. If they want to stay, more power to them. Those of us who want to leave shouldn't have to stay.

...I can't guarantee a revolving door, not yet. My focus is just on an exit right now.

And just how do you intend to do that? I'm sure people have been looking for exits long before you even arrived.

[His bravado falters, and the energy in his tone plummets.]

I...have no idea. I haven't figured out how to exploit their weakness...

[And they killed him. There was no way he could win without aid.]

What makes you think they have any? And even if they did, what makes you think we will even have the ability to exploit anything?

I don't, but we've gotta have hope.

Whatever gives your life purpose.

[Though she's beginning to get the feeling it's like banging up against a steel wall. Unless you have the strength to cut through it, there is nothing you can do but hurt yourself.]

[Because he had a feeling he was going to need every sympathetic hand he could find, and Robin had them in spades. Whomever this woman truly was, whatever her nature, he liked her.

How do you know Luffy?

[Its fine. He's had more offers of help lately than he wants to deal with.]

...I know the Vice Admiral. [Because that was the truth--and he uses that rank only for Robin.] Have known him since I came here in November, and I was getting exasperated by his constant comparisons between 'Straw Hat' and myself. I didn't actually meet Luffy himself until a couple of months back, when Smoker and my rival, Zenigata, decided to trade places and targets.

It...was pretty wild. I've spoken with Luffy on and off since then, and I was looking forward to getting to know him better.

[So a friend and not a friend, and some sort of thief or pirate himself. Someone not to be trusted, obviously, but so few people are. Still, she can't imagine there is much comparison to be had. ~~but then, she's biased~~]

I hope that you won't get the chance. But knowing how things are, you probably will.

[Thief, and go on a head and be biased. He doesn't mind, because he's only similar to Luffy in approach to conflict and mentality. They're very different otherwise, and Lupin almost wanted to yell at Smoker for the comparison when he finally met Luffy.]

It's the best thing to hope for, but you're probably right. Smoker left a few months back, and returned a week later with a few more scars, a much higher rank, and two years on him. None of us should have to live in a cage, though, so I'm gonna hope that Luffy stays on his ocean. It's the best place for him.

I feel the same. [Even though... Well, no, those thoughts shouldn't be entertained. There is no purpose to them]

Do you have anything to go back to?

[He smiles.] Running from the cops, stealing treasures, and being a scoundrel. It's all great fun, really.

How about you? It's the Grand Line, right, but is it treating you well?

[He is somewhat similar to Luffy after all.]

New World. [Well almost] And so far it is. Running from the Marines, stealing knowledge, waging war on the government. I enjoy it.

Oh, that sounds really fun.

[Because government espionage and information theft were as valuable as any treasure, and much more dangerous.]

It is. [She sighs a little] I miss it.

[Still, Luceti does have it's ~~pineapple shaped~~ charms]

I think a lot of us miss our homes, really. That's part of life here.

It is. [She rests her chin on her fist]

What sort of world do you come from? Earth?

...it's not that different from your's, when you get down to the details. There's no all encompassing ocean, but there's criminals and law officials...and the governments can be quite corrupt. We have no cool powers or anything that special, just our minds. That's all we bring.

I miss the freedom of it. I miss the open road.

Cool powers are worth very little if keen minds aren't behind them. [Though she shares his sentiment. His longing. And despite the few good times she's had here, there is nothing better than home]

Well, then, I hope you're able to return soon.

I hope the same for you. [He did, truly. She belonged on the sea with Luffy and whatever it was that they were after. 'One Piece.' He was slowly getting details from Smoker, but it was a long time coming.]
