Log 009 [Video/Action]

[On Day One, Robin will open the journal and look faintly bemused... ~~Though she's been waiting for the distraction.~~]

Well then, this is interesting. There seems to be Alabasta outside my window. [~~how familiar~~]

I hear pyramids are often rigged with death traps, curses and murder. [An open invitation to go exploring with her]

Days 1-2

[Either by going into a pyramid or falling through an unseen pit of sand, you will find Robin in the tombs, investigating hieroglyphs, treasures or mutilated mummies.]

Day 3

[Robin will be on a ~~not really~~ tame Mammoth, exploring the chilly countryside and might offer rides to weary passersby or, then again, might ignore them completely]

Days 4-5

[Robin will be relaxing in the Shogunate, you may find her reading under a cherry tree, dressed in the local wear though she does have an eye (or several) open in case of ninja]

A little. I've got my reasons, eh. [Blackbeard. Darkness... yeah. Marco doesn't sleep in pure darkness for a reason, although part of it might just be because he likes to sleep in his phoenix form.]

[He shifts about a little so that he can safely grab her by the shoulders at a moment's notice and get larger if so needed.]

[She's not sure what they are, though she can guess at a few. In either case, everyone has their fears. But this is one fear she's never had. The darkness has always been her friend. She's learned how to move within it, move around it, and follow the light to the end]

[She curls her fingers through his flames as she continues down the narrow steps, feeling below her. All around. It is quiet and her footsteps echo and she starts quietly humming Bink's Sake, listening to it curl in a lonely way into the darkness. Maybe something will hear it. Maybe something will respond.]

When I don't kick it in the face. [Trolololol Kizaru reference, aw yes.]

[He tilts his head a little at the song.] That's one of Shanks' favorite songs you know. [He's keeping deadpan about it and refraining from any judgmental huffs, for now..]

Kick it in the face?

[She doesn't get that reference. Though she smiles a bit about the grumpiness of the tone. Yes. She can tell. A little. Still she continues to speak lightly.]

I don't care whose favorite song it is. It is our song. We won it.

Kizaru of course.

You won it? [Genuinely curious.]

Ah.

[She's heard about that. Sort of. Rumors. Hard to tell them apart from the truth. But she's glad that's true.]

Mm. We fought hard for it through shadows and zombies.

[And it is sort of their secret anthem in a way. Dark and light. Hope. And is in Brook's head which is the most important]

Anyway, Redhair seems unavoidable, ne?

Gecko Moria? [Headtilt.]

Eh, he's a bit of a pest. He can be avoided, it just takes some doing.

Gecko Moria...and others. [but fairly nameless, she imagines. Or--at least not as well known as the shichibukai]

I wonder if you could really avoid Shanks if he wanted to be known. [He is an emperor after all...and seemed difficult to avoid even for Whitebeard, based on what she's heard]

[They come to a dead end and she blinks, perplexed. There seems to be some writing but she can't make it out]

A little more light, Marcchan?

Perona? But I thought you lot didn't have any problems with her now.

[Shines a little brighter and aims a wing to where she's looking, with a small grunt about Shanks.] And thus the problem with him. That bastard always wants to make himself known. Someone just needs to kick his ass and tell him no one cares.

Don't we? I don't really know.

[At least Zoro doesn't seem to have a problem with her. Though the nature of allies has always seemed somewhat tenuous to Robin. She'll have to wait for Luffy's judgment on that one]

I wonder if he annoys you because you like him in spite of yourself.

[she's heard that about Shanks, too.

She reads the inscriptions and it takes a moment and she smiles]

Are you prepared?

[He's quiet about Perona, just reflectively thinking it over, but he downright hisses like a swan about Shanks.]

Like him!? He made my nakama pass out just because he wanted to shove his weight around. [Flomps his head back down on top of hers and briefly flails his birdie feet, adjusting the wing and everything else to puff up a little more so he could carry or protect Robin as necessary.]

Stupid red-haired bastard, always asking me to join his crew. As if I don't have enough little idiots to look after who never listen to me... He's so arrogant. He always assumes he knows everything that's going on and never bothers to find out the whole story, just jumps in. Like all the worst aspects of Roger and Silvers and none of the good. I don't know how Benn tolerates him.

Okay, ready.

[She blinks at the hiss. She's never heard him so incensed without being truly angry. It's...adorable. She reaches up pulls his head down so she can press a kiss against his beak.]

Don't ever change.

[Then after an affectionate pat to his cheek. She presses hidden levers on either side of her. There is a rumbling grating sound and the floor drops away completely.

[He blinks in surprise as well before giving off a definite phoenix blush. As they drop down, he takes a little bit to collect himself before spreading his wings as wide as they'll allow in the corridor and slowing their descent like a parachute.]

As if I could...

[Mumbles.] Where are we, eh?

We should be entering a sort of underground chamber soon.

[It's interesting this way. Usually she is on his back. She thinks she prefers it much better than just being dangled like prey but...then again it can't be helped.

A moment later they enter a vast open space underground. It looks like some sort of subterranean lake. But there is a small sandy island with a block of stone in the center of it, lit by a shaft of sunlight coming from above]

It's beautiful, isn't it? I wonder if there are lake monsters.

[Grunts as he keeps lowering her and whistles to himself before repeating it clearly in human.]

You better hope not.

I can't kick like this, and if they're in the lake you might have troubles punching them in the eye without an arm chain. See any place to land down there?

[Marco may or may not be looking at her chest rather than the ground, okay. It's blocking his view. That is his excuse and he's sticking to it.]

[she smirks a little at his question. Where are his eyes?]

Yes. It's easy to see if you look.

Easier said for you. I've got bird eyes, aside from height, they aren't always the best. [He'd stick his tongue out at her, but he glances around to make sure he's not landing on ripples and lands on solid ground, with Robin's feet first.] All good, love?

All good. How poor are your eyes as a bird?

[She can think of a few scenarios in which that would be helpful to know. In any case, when fighting alongside anyone, it was good to know their limitations]

Good, just easily distracted by colors or attractive things. Sparkles and flowers will get me every time.

[Lands down next her and mostly switches back to human but he's still got two wings out in case he needs to protect either of them.]
