Log 009 [Video/Action]

[On Day One, Robin will open the journal and look faintly bemused... ~~Though she's been waiting for the distraction.~~]

Well then, this is interesting. There seems to be Alabasta outside my window. [~~how familiar~~]

I hear pyramids are often rigged with death traps, curses and murder. [An open invitation to go exploring with her]

Days 1-2

[Either by going into a pyramid or falling through an unseen pit of sand, you will find Robin in the tombs, investigating hieroglyphs, treasures or mutilated mummies.]

Day 3

[Robin will be on a ~~not really~~ tame Mammoth, exploring the chilly countryside and might offer rides to weary passersby or, then again, might ignore them completely]

Days 4-5

[Robin will be relaxing in the Shogunate, you may find her reading under a cherry tree, dressed in the local wear though she does have an eye (or several) open in case of ninja]

It was a metaphor. [Though his words catch her] Do Vulcans not have sadness? Are they incapable or merely restrained?

[She doesn't need his help as such. So he'll just have to hang around]

We are... capable of experiencing sadness. However, I believe the word is 'controlled'....

[Spock tries to move... to see how solid a grip she has on him...

Controlled? Is it for a biological reason or cultural one?

[Her grip is sure though not tight. She frowns at him for wiggling since it takes more work to hold onto him]

Vulcan-san, the entire floor is quicksand. I don't know where it is you intend to go.

[She blinks at the hiss. She's never heard him so incensed without being truly angry. It's...adorable. She reaches up pulls his head down so she can press a kiss against his beak.]

Don't ever change.

[Then after an affectionate pat to his cheek. She presses hidden levers on either side of her. There is a rumbling grating sound and the floor drops away completely.

You could argue both...

The Vulcan race used to be a warrior race... and one of extreme violence. If it was not for one Vulcan who saw reason and logic, then the whole planet would have tore itself apart...[Not that that mattered now...]

Because of the ways of Surak, we have the means to control our emotions and dedicate our time to science and exploration... for the betterment of the universe.

[Spock looks down...]

It would seem that I am going nowhere Miss Robin...

[He blinks in surprise as well before giving off a definite phoenix blush. As they drop down, he takes a little bit to collect himself before spreading his wings as wide as they'll allow in the corridor and slowing their descent like a parachute.]

[Mumbles.] Where are we, eh?

[She is always glad to run into interesting people. Even when she is not sure about them in the end.]

Perhaps we should run into one another more often. I am mostly in the library. [But it would be nice to get out and talk to others more]

We should be entering a sort of underground chamber soon.

[It's interesting this way. Usually she is on his back. She thinks she prefers it much better than just being dangled like prey but...then again it can't be helped.

A moment later they enter a vast open space underground. It looks like some sort of subterranean lake. But there is a small sandy island with a block of stone in the center of it, lit by a shaft of sunlight coming from above]

It's beautiful, isn't it? I wonder if there are lake monsters.

[She wonders how much of the mythos is true. How much exaggerated. Tales and apocalyptic warnings always carried much fiction in spite of their real world meaning. She dismisses the betterment comment as "betterment" is largely up to interpretation and changes with the times.]

So it is some sort of religion...

[and thinking of religion... She glances at the door again, peering at the different symbols. What could mean courage here? What could be sacred here? A hand blossoms from the wall and feels around the picture that looks like a sun and then presses it. With a creaking and grating of stone the door opens. To reveal a dark interior.]

It seems we've found the way in...

It would only be considered religion as it is a lifestyle... however, as it is based on logic it is also our governing institution...

Though I am beginning to question their methods. [Spock mutters this last statement...]

I am privileged that you consider this accomplishment a group effort Miss Robin...

[Grunts as he keeps lowering her and whistles to himself before repeating it clearly in human.]

I can't kick like this, and if they're in the lake you might have troubles punching them in the eye without an arm chain. See any place to land down there?

[Marco may or may not be looking at her chest rather than the ground, okay. It's blocking his view. That is his excuse and he's sticking to it.]

I wander in and out of there with some regularity.

Actually, my friend Belle and I were going to restart the book club, if you'd be interested in participating.

Easier said for you. I've got bird eyes, aside from height, they aren't always the best. [He'd stick his tongue out at her, but he glances around to make sure he's not landing on ripples and lands on solid ground, with Robin's feet first.] All good, love?

All sorts. The idea was to share books from our worlds, and perhaps play out scenes in them in the battle dome.

[Spock gives her an assessing look.... and quirks an eyebrow...]

Considering events leading up to this point, I am rather disinclined to enter at this time...

Though I am tempted to say 'Ladies first'... I do not believe that would be the correct response in the situation...

[Spock gives here another 'look'.. then takes a flashlight from his messenger bag....turning it on, he enters the darkness.]

You seem to care a lot about the correct response.

[Robin drops down and follows him into the dark. It's difficult to see much but it seems like a narrow hall with marks that had been there before, gouged away. History destroyed. Unknowable.]

Perhaps there is no correct response. Or perhaps what you've thought of to be correct has been wrong all this time.

I might try it.

[Though she's not entirely sure if she would enjoy that sort of thing. It couldn't hurt to at least try]

Though acting is not exactly my forte. [At least not in that kind of way.]

I think it was more...observing them, seeing how other people saw the book through their mind's eye, like a film.

All good. How poor are your eyes as a bird?

[She can think of a few scenarios in which that would be helpful to know. In any case, when fighting alongside anyone, it was good to know their limitations]
